Description

Yamaha YP D71 turntable. Premium Version. Fully revitalized. Grace F 8L cartridge.

In 1887 Torakusu Yamaha built his first keyboard wind instrument. Ten years later Torakusu established Nippon Gakki Co. Ltd. and produced pianos and reed organs, which were  rewarded in 1904 with Honorary Main Reward at the World Fair in Saint Louis. In the following years, the company extended its offer  of musical instruments and produced pianos, acoustic guitars, trumpets, percussions, electric guitars, etc. The company also began to produce audio equipment. The first turntables were created in the 1920s, but especially valued hi-fi devices (mainly amplifiers and CD players) and high-quality loudspeakers that complemented them were created in the 70?s and 80?s. In 1955, as the Yamaha Motor Company, the company also dealt with the production of two-wheelers, and from the early 70?s, professional sound equipment currently known as Yamaha Pro Audio.

The YP-D71 is a sophisticated successor to the YP-D8 and YP-D10 turntables produced by Yamaha in the 70s. It is a well-balanced model distinguished by rotational accuracy, tracking precision and damping of unwanted vibrations. Thanks to its highly effective control system, the rotational accuracy of the table shows excellent stability against fluctuation of load, voltage, temperature, etc. Additionally, the YP-D71 has been equipped with a coreless slotless motor, which enables high torque output every time. What is also worth noticing is the extremely elegant and minimalistic design.

The enclosure of the presented model has been completely revitalized – rosewood was used, the wood finish is Chinese oil produced from natural oils and turpentine-based beeswax. All external and internal metal components of the turntable have been cleaned and painted using the automotive wet painting technique. The device has been fully reviewed and serviced. The turntable has been fitted with new aluminum feet.

This is a collector?s set. The device is in perfect condition. Record clamp included.
