Description
Toshiba HR40 quadraphonic headphones. Classic Vintage. Stand included in the price.
In 1875, the Japanese Ministry of Engineering commissioned Hisashige Tanaka to build a factory in Tokyo to develop telegraphic equipment. Separately, in 1890, Ichisuke Fujioka founded Hakunetsu-sha Co., Ltd., which produced light bulbs. In 1939 , the two renamed companies (Shibaura Engineering Works and Tokyo Electric Company) merged to form Tokyo Shibaura Electric Co., Ltd.
Although the new company quickly became known as Toshiba, its short name was adopted as the official name of the company in 1984. During World War II, the company recorded a rapid increase because of numerous government orders, a.o. for radios. Moreover, Toshiba is known as the producer of the first radar in Japan (1912), a radio receiver (1924), a transistor TV (1959), a laptop (1986) and a DVD (1995).
The Toshiba HR40 are quadraphonic headphones from the seventies. Four-channel playback puts the listener in the very centre of the music scene created by four independent and equal sources of sound. Each of them is designed to transfer the full range from bass to treble. Thanks to their construction, the headphones allow you to enjoy fully quadraphonic vinyl records, although stereo playing also sounds great in this model.
All eco-leather elements (including the headband and pads) have been cleaned, moisturized and protected with a lotion based on lanolin, aloe, beeswax and Carnauba wax.
Specially designed and hand-made solid headphone stands. The material is plywood, varnished using the automotive wet painting technique, which gives the stands a beautiful look and makes them very pleasant to the touch. Felt pads have been affixed to the base to prevent furniture scratches.
Collector’s headphones. In perfect condition!
