Description
Micro Seiki BL-99V Turntable. Micro MA-505 MK III. Denon DL-303. Exclusive Version. Fully revitalized.
Micro Seiki was founded in 1961 by Kosaku Komiya as a precision engineering company. Initially, it made mechanical components for watches and measuring instruments, and later in 1968 it specialized in turntable production. The company was successful in both Japan and abroad. In Europe it established its position of a luxury brand. The first turntable launched around 1973 was the MR-711 equipped with a direct drive. However, it is the SZ 1T model from 1984 that has become the flagship product. In 1986, the SX 555 FVW turntable was recognized as a reference model by the industry magazine Stereoplay.
The company designed and manufactured all Luxman turntables, as well as produced for brands like: ADC, Denon, Sharp, Toshiba, Hitachi, Sanyo, Sansui, Kenwood, Telefunken, SABA and H. H. Scott. Many devices were also created for brands such as: Quelle, Neckermann and RadioShack. Micro Seiki was a market leader in the research and development of drives and tonearms, but it was also probably the all-time biggest producer of turntables. It never expanded to other audio equipment production.
The Micro Seiki BL-99V is an advanced turntable from the 1980s, utilizing a belt-drive system to minimize the transmission of vibrations from the motor to the platter, ensuring exceptional sonic purity. The model also employs Micro Seiki’s proprietary oil-damped isolation system, designed to reduce mechanical interference. The platter itself is a remarkably massive construction, precisely machined for perfect balance and vibration damping. Supported by a highly engineered bearing system, it guarantees rotational stability with minimal speed fluctuation, resulting in superb playback quality and an exceptionally low wow & flutter. A unique feature of the BL-99V is the MICRO vacuum hold-down system. In conjunction with the external Micro RP-99V pump, it creates a sealed system that draws air from beneath the record, pressing the vinyl evenly against the platter. This completely eliminates warping and surface irregularities, allowing the stylus to track the groove with maximum precision. The servo-controlled airflow ensures constant negative pressure throughout playback, delivering stable operation. In addition, the BL-99V features a dedicated, specially designed external power supply, shielding the system from external interference and maintaining stable voltage and frequency-further enhancing motor precision. Combining advanced engineering with meticulous craftsmanship, the BL-99V offers unmatched stability, fidelity, and musicality.
The Micro MA-505 MKIII tonearm is a remarkable Japanese design based on a dynamic balance system, offering wide adjustment possibilities. Thanks to its advanced bearing construction, it allows precise matching with both light and heavy cartridges. The spring-loaded tracking force system enables linear adjustment in the range of 0.25-3 g, remaining completely unaffected by external factors such as turntable setup conditions or record pressing quality. Importantly, even at low tracking forces the tonearm maintains outstanding stability, ensuring excellent results with highly sensitive cartridges.
The enclosure has undergone complete revitalization, crafted from rosewood and finished with Chinese oil produced from natural oils and natural turpentine-based beeswax. All external and internal metal components of the turntable have been cleaned and refinished using the automotive “wet painting” technique. The unit has been fully inspected and serviced.
