Description
A.E.C Beta speakers. Studio monitors. Fully revitalized.
A.E.C. (Audio Engineering Components) was founded in 1972 at a time when the graphic equalizer was transitioning from the professional to the consumer audio market. Experts from A.E.C., while observing the latest developments and understanding their importance, realized the potential of the new tool, but also the problems of people who tried to use this technology. As a result, the company designed and launched various real-time analyzers to educate people about the impact of components, room interaction, and sound architecture. This led very quickly to the development and production of other specialized components in the field of consumer electronics, such as a state-of-the-art equalizer and later a preamplifier. Furthermore, A.E.C. in collaboration with Decca Special Products, designed a full range of high-quality turntable cartridges that perfectly matched the C-81 turntable. Then, thanks to John Curl’s new design approach, a combination of the AEC C-11 preamp and the C-21 power amplifier was created. It served the needs of the professional market for over three decades. Still, one of the company’s greatest accomplishments was the creation of the A.E.C. Monitor, a loudspeaker that revolutionized the audio market in 1983 and still has no equal. A.E.C. is still active on the market designing innovative audio devices to change the way we think about what we hear.
The Beta speakers were originally designed as studio monitors used in recording studios the size of a typical living room. Since the audience of sound engineers was extremely demanding, the designers of this model focused on sonic precision, and their only limitation was the size of the box. Therefore, the loudspeakers feature top-class speakers (first of all, the Dynaudio midrange is especially noteworthy), and the sound is a perfect reproduction of the recording without any distortions.
The speakers were cleaned of old coatings and then painted using the automotive wet painting technique. Structured varnish in black was used and protected with a clear satin varnish.
Included are two speaker cables with a cross section of 2 × 2.5mm and length of 2x5m
The set is 100% functional, the speakers are in perfect condition.
